James walked out of the security of prison into a world he’d never known in his previous life; that of operating in kingdom principles as a Christian businessman. He captures the essence of spiritual growth in this sequel to Feed the Tiger, the autobiography of his pre-Christ life. He details the uncertainty of how to walk with the Lord while laying aside all his street-smart sense, as well as the process of change with the Lord leading him away from past relationships that could lead him back into sin, while changing his old thinking patterns into Kingdom perceptions.

He is candidly honest about the mistakes made while learning that God is only obligated to bless those “deals” he provides. He pays $35,000 for the first lesson, $58,000 for the next, before learning it is better to ask for God’s plan before choosing one himself.

The reader will identify with the security of being a baby Christian that grows through the toddler stage of learning the rules. He progresses from a child who wants to gorge himself on new manna, to a teenager who “knows his way is best”, finally becoming an adult who matures into exhibiting the character of Christ in his daily walk. His experiences will encourage those who are just saved, and enlighten those who’ve struggled with failure, disappointment and uncertainties.

While gazing at the water I saw a vision of myself as a little cabin on the lake. It was a quaint log cabin, with one floor and a fireplace inside the only bedroom. There was a nice front porch with two rocking chairs that provided a perfect view of the lake. A thought came that this represented me and was the temple (me) that God had built me into since my life changing experience with Him. It looked good to me; peaceful, serene, a great place of rest. It was quite a contrast to the high-rise Penthouse I thought I needed in order to be happy. I knew God must be very pleased with me. Was I wrong!

I audibly heard the sound of chainsaws severing the north wall of the cabin from its corner joists. It crashed through the tree branches, plummeting to the ground. I then heard God say to me, “James, do you need to read those magazines?” I was shocked that God would address me with my given childhood name, rather than Jim, the shortened version everyone knew me by.

I knew instantly what “magazines” He was talking about. “Do you think I take pleasure in my son spending time drooling over Penthouse, or Playboy? Do you think I take pleasure watching you run to hide those magazines from guests that come over for prayer?” He asked in a matter of fact tone with no condemnation attached. I knew the answer.
